Christopher Botti – Born in Portland, OR, in 1962, Botti’s mother was his musical influence and he began to play the trumpet at the age of 9. A celebrated American trumpeter and composer of jazz and smooth jazz, Botti has been nominated for 5 Grammy Awards and 3 of his albums have reached #1 on the Billboard jazz albums chart. Coming to prominence with the 2001 recording of his Night Sessions CD, Botti established a reputation as a versatile musician in both jazz and pop music for his ability to fuse both styles together. He has performed for Oprah Winfrey and for the White House. His trumpet is a Martin Committee large bore Handcraft trumpet made in 1939.
Artist – Versatile local Denver artist Mike Frost specializes in colorful cartoon art; however, he took a different art path with Botti. He drew his inspiration to create Botti’s black and white mask based on Botti’s penchant for black and white photos; and played off his music by painting musical notes across the mask from Botti’s own sheet music.
