Item Description

Romero Britto serigraph (silkscreen) titled "Celebration,” published 2001, #7 of an edition of 100, size 38" x 32" (56" x 48" framed). This serigraph was acquired framed, at the Britto Central gallery in Miami, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The frame is black with a hand painted filet that matches the serigraph to create a 3D look. The print is limited edition and is no longer available at Britto Central. In fact, #7 is always the last piece that the gallery sells, apparently for good luck!

About the artist: Romero Britto was born in Recife, Brazil in 1963. Self-taught at an early age, he painted on surfaces such as newspapers. In 1983, he traveled to Paris where he was introduced to the work of Matisse and Picasso. Britto combines influences from cubism with pop, to create a vibrant, iconic style that The New York Times describes as, "exudes warmth, optimism and love."

Britto's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in more than 100 countries, including the Salon Nationale des Beaux-Arts exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2008 and 2010. He has also created public art installations for the O2 Dome (Berlin), Hyde Park (London), John F. Kennedy Airport (New York), and Cirque du Soleil at Super Bowl XLI.
