Item Description
“King Angelfish Face” They are curious and shy. They love to peek their heads around the coral heads, but rarely are caught in open water. For them, it is a struggle. Swim out and see what that funny, bubbling diver is doing, or stay safely tucked in my coral bed home? To photograph a King Angelfish takes patience and a quick finger on the camera’s button. The adult King Angelfish captured above was photographed in approximately 35 feet of water off the shore of La Paz, Mexico in the Sea of Cortez. This inquisitive fish, like all angelfish, go through several color shifts before gaining their royal blue and yellow markings in adulthood. Angelfish are one of the most photographed fish in the ocean and come in a multitude of exquisite colors. This image was taken by award winning, underwater photographer, Richard Howard of Oceans of Images at Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River, Florida.
