Item Description

6 Assorted bottles of special spirits in a wooden treasure chest.  Includes red, white and sparkling wines.

1. MonTirius Gigonadas 2007 Terre des Aines, a biodynamic Rhone wine. Organic Mourvedre & Grenache.  A classic Rhone wine.  Full bodied and rich, with hints of blueberry, plum and fig.  (Tanzer: 92).

2. Duckhorn Paraduxx Napa Valley 2009 Z Blend (Zin + Cab Sav) The aromas are dark and brambly, with raspberry jam, black cherry, cedar and dark chocolate notes, as well as subtler hints of pepper, cinnamon, clove and molasses. (Wine Advocate: 92)

3. Schramsberg 2008 Blanc de Blanc Brut (California Champenoise) As close to champagne as you can get in California.  Bright aromas of fresh green apple and juicy pineapple.  Flavor of grapefruit, apple, pear.  Delightful bubbles.  (Wine Spectator: 91)

4. DuMol 2009 Chardonnay Russian River Valley (Windsor, CA)   Elegance and freshness on the palate.  Bright, crisp apples, white peach. (Wine Advocate 95).

5. Chateau Beaulieu 2009 Comtes de Tastes Bordeaux Superieur.  Forward nose of cassis, moist earth.  Medium body, good fruit concentration, mild tannins.  This is a typical Bordeaux- affordable enough to keep a case in the hold.  (Wine Advocate: 90)

6. Vietti 2009 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco. Red from Italy. Made with the same noble grape as Barolo and Barbaresco, but less heavy on the palate.  Lots of zesty tannins, berries.  Drink now or wait until you put ashore.  (Wine Advocate: 89)
