d December 30, 2010, in Houston, Texas.
Colin Kennedy was a passionate amateur. He wrote some. He drew and painted pictures. He wandered bleak, but often-beautiful landscapes with his camera, seeking to capture the essence of what he saw. He is well known for his photography & art.
Last summer’s concert series at the Annisquam Village Church was dedicated to the memory of the late Kennedy who was an ardent supporter of the AVC music series. He generously sharing his talents and support with many Annisquam village events each summer.
Earlier events
In 1963 he joined NASA-Houston as a scientific illustrator. During the 1970s his career evolved into exhibit design, and with his associate Chuck Biggs he worked closely with National Decorators, Pace Management, and various free-lance projects.
In 1972 he met Houstonian Bettie Cartwright. They married on August 5, 1983. In 1994 they made a second home in Annisquam, Massachusetts, where they spent many summers by the sea.
Some of you may know the Schooner Ellida.
Designed by John Alden, sh was built in 1922 in Thomaston, Maine. Ellida is 80' LOA.
