Experienced museum lecturer, art historian, and PS11 parent will lead you on a personal exploration of modern and contemporary art. You can customize your tour from among the various works in both the permanent and temporary exhibitions. One hour.
Lewis Kachur is an Associate Professor of Art History at Kean University, where he teaches American, Modern and Contemporary Art History courses. His book, Displaying the Marvelous : Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dali, and Surrealist Exhibition Installations was published by MIT Press in 2001. Kachur has given talks on “Michel Tapié, Gutai and Jackson Pollock,” at Emory University, and Marcel Duchamp at the University of Orleans, France, and Temple University. He also lectured on “Art of the NJ Turnpike” at the Popular Culture Association conference.
