Item Description
Bid for a spot on a Tour of Earthquake Sources in the LA Basin on Sunday, October 21, 9:00am in Altadena with Walden Parent and Professor of Geology at California State University Northridge as your guide!
Metropolitan Los Angeles is constructed along the active tectonic boundary between the North American and Pacific tectonic plates. Geologists have discovered that our "neighborhoods" are constructed on over 100 potential earthquake sources that have generated earthquakes that range from magnitude 6 to 8 (and will do so again one day).
This 1/2 day field trip, for as many as 10 adults and kids, will explore a handful of possible earthquake sources that lurk beneath urban Los Angeles. This trip will include an LA Basin overview stop at Griffith Observatory, and stops in west Los Angeles, Hollywood, east Los Angeles, San Marino, and La Canada-Flintridge. Participants will travel via 12-passenger van to be provided by trip leader, Doug Yule. Price per participant is $50. Walden Students and Parents and their friends are welcome!
Item Special Note
Winning bidder must pick up items on May 9 or May 10, 2012, from 3:00 pm - 6:00pm from the Community Room at Walden School. Otherwise, shipping charges will be charged to the purchaser.
