Scot's edition of "My First Summer in the Sierra: 100th Anniversary Illustrated Edition" recently received the 2011 Classic Award from the National Outdoor Book Awards, the outdoor world's largest and most prestigious book award program.

Though based in Dallas, he is a frequent traveler to the area, working on a long-term MAINE WOODS project. Scot & his wife Marilyn -- who co-own Sun To Moon Gallery in Dallas -- are actively involved in the movement to establish the Maine Woods as the next National Park. He has also spent considerable time trekking in the Yosemite back country to parts of the park rarely visited.
