From www.madametalbot.com: Madame Talbot works within traditional Victorian and Gothic Lowbrow themes that are at once timeless and current, merging the past and present with each individual piece that she creates in order to insure quality and care are of the utmost importance.
Her posters are exceptional in that all of her illustrations are drawn entirely by hand using a pen and black ink, and each individual poster can take up to two weeks to complete. Once a poster is completed, the illustration is then printed using actual film that is shot directly from the original artwork.
No computers are ever used in the creation of any of Madame Talbot's hand-illustrated pen-and-ink finished pieces.
Her posters are printed "Old School" meaning, they are offset printed utilizing a real printing press. We have found that offset printing creates a much higher quality than digital. and helps to maintain the integrity of the original pen-and-ink illustration, not to mention what Victorian Lowbrow and Gothic Lowbrow truly stands for."
