Item Description

"Art vs. War" Original painting by Sean Conroy.  Mixed media on board.  Measures approximately 18"x20".  The painting is a multi-media piece inspired by New Orleans artists both past and present (Lousiannan Folk Artists, Porche West, and Edgar Degas to name a few). The materials used are boards, ropes, paint, and nails from New Orleans. The focus of the piece is a spoil of war, an Iraqi bayonet brought home by an American soldier. The artist has attempted to change the purpose of this weapon into something useful. Art vs. War.

Sean Conroy, a multi-media Artist, has been drawing since he was a child.  A 2009 graduate of the WVA School of Art and an avid athlete, he wants his art to bring people hope.  His art has been displayed at numerous galleries and shows as well as public installations in West Virginia and Alabama.  His work can also be seen commercially on Rumsey Rock Porter labels.
