Item Description

San Domenico Summer Riding Camps are perfect for beginning riders, and are also an excellent introduction to our lesson program, in which our riders range from longe line walk/trot lessons to showing at rated shows.  Our Riding Camps focus on proper horsemanship, barn etiquette, and especially safety, both in the arena and around the stables.  During our Riding Camp your child will learn how to groom, bathe, clean tack and prepare their pony for riding.  Campers ride everyday in lessons where they learn to control their pony without assistance on the rail and through an obstacle course, and practice proper riding positions and trotting. Campers participate in fun activities and learning games like a scavenger hunt and pin the tail on the pony to familiarize them with the anatomy of the horse and riding equipment.  Andy Burke, our farrier, teaches campers hoof anatomy followed by a shoeing demonstration.
