Item Description
What do the New York Yankees and Meatloaf have in common? The legendary Baseball Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto, of course! Phil "The Scooter" Rizzuto not only played shortstop for the Bronx Bombers from 1941-1956, he also enjoyed a 40 year long career as game announcer for the Yankees. It was as a game announcer he was immortalized in Meatloaf's iconic hit song "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" with his idiosyncratic style, charming and unpredictable digressions, and the lively energy of his play-by-play commentary. As anyone who grew up in the New York Metropolitan radio broadcast area can tell you, his trademark expression was "Holy Cow!"
And if you Red Sox fans are still skeptical, perhaps it would interest you to know that Ted Williams himself once claimed that his Red Sox would have won most of the Yankee's 1940s and 1950s pennants if they had had Rizzuto playing shortstop for the Red Sox!
This Rawlings Official Major League Baseball is hand signed and autographed "Holy Cow! Phil Rizzuto HOF94" for you to proudly display as a centerpiece of your Baseball Memorabilia Collection. Yankees - Meatloaf - Red Sox fans: there are plenty of reasons why the Scooter appeals to each!
