Silk Runner with Set of Napkins
Hand-dyed in vats created by the Wade Thomas 5th graders with the guidance of Rebecca Burgess, local author of "Harvesting Color". The rust-toned set derived its color from the California native Toyon, Heteromoles arbutifolia. The students practiced natural dyeing techniques in conjunction with their preparations for Colonial Day. The silk runner is 55 1/2"L x 14 1/2"W and napkins are 15" x 17".
