Becky DiStefano, a native Rhode Islander, is the designer and creator of Haute Tags™, an accessory line born of a love for social media and the connections made on sites like Twitter®. Handles (user names) and hashtags (linked Tweets) bring people, places, ideas, likes and dislikes into a public forum and create circles and societies within the larger social spectrum. Communities within the larger community form and people are connected via a particular television show, film, news item, event, cosmetic line, fashion collection and more. Becky lives and breathes social media and has made connections with celebrities, publicists, stylists, designers, etc.
With over 10 years of experience in beauty, branding, writing and public relations, Becky, who has worked in New York City and Providence, decided to launch her own brand with a one-of-a-kind spin: the world's first social media accessory line. To bring social media and its connections to the real world from the virtual, Haute Tags™ is the perfect vessel. The tags are made in Rhode Island from brass and are nickel plated. They are then bejeweled with brilliant Swarovski crystals. The tags are personalized with customized engraving of a person's handle, hashtag, company name, etc.; the possibilities are endless.
