Item Description
Two CDs of Beget Kefet's "The First Album" and "One Little Dot"
Beged Kefet is a musical tzedakah-collective, donating the proceeds from their performances and recordings to Myriam's Dream, in order to carry on Myriam Mendilow's dedication to preserving human dignity and promoting understanding and respect for all people. Beged Kefet seeks to awaken human hearts and minds to the unique value of every human being, and to raise funds to support programs that translate this ideal into action.
Myriam's Dream was established in memory of Myriam Mendilow, an Israeli schoolteacher disheartened by the lack of respect and understanding her students exhibited toward the elderly, especially the elderly poor. Myriam created workshops in Jerusalem, employing the elderly and disabled to bind books, create beautiful handiwork, and share lessons learned across a lifetime. After Myriam died, Myriam's Dream was founded to further her vision, raising funds to support projects worldwide that advance human dignity, promote respect for the elderly and disabled, and preserve the valuable heritage of the old teaching the young.
Beged Kefet is: Rabbi Les Bronstein, Rabbi Billy Dreskin, Cantor Ellen Dreskin, Cantor Riki Lippitz, Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller, Beth Sher, and Cantor Leon Sher.
