Item Description

The B16 Contain is BrightLine Bags answer for an IFR/Overnight Bag.  With the B16, you can now carry multiple IFR Binders, 13” Laptop, or a change of clothes.

The B16 is 13.5” x 10.5” x 13”.  (And remember, it is a soft bag so it can expand slightly in every direction.)

The B16 Contain is the B10 Classic with a CS5 zipped into the middle of the Front and Rear Bag.  It comes with a Side Pocket Alpha (Radio Pocket), Side Pocket Charlie (Pen Pocket), and a Side Pocket Delta (Double Pocket).  The entire interior of the B16 is gray so one can easily identify the items inside.  The B16 was developed to help those pilots that frequently fly IFR.  The CS5 is large enough to handle a couple of IFR Binders, while you keep your main gear the way you like it in the Front and Rear Bags.  When not flying IFR, simply remove the CS5, so you can fly with the smaller, efficient B10.  The Side Pocket Charlie (Double Pocket) also allows you to carry more items on the outside for quick retrieval.

Storage on the B16 is accomplished in a number of ways.  On the Front Bag, you have the nine pockets on the front, followed by the main storage area.  These front pockets hold your mobile phone, keys, wallet, fuel tester, flashlight, Multi-Tool, Biz cards, and a camera or electronic E6B.  The main storage area comes with a divider shelf as well, and holds headsets or a GPS.  On top of the bag is a pocket for sunglasses.  There are two FLEX Mount Pocket stations on both sides of the Front Bag.

The CS5 in the middle of the B16 affords the most voluminous storage.  It is essentially a place to store large IFR Binders, 13" laptops, a change of clothes, etc.  With the divider shelf, you can add two more sets of headsets.  When in its B16 configuration, the CS5 can be accessed two ways.  One way is by unzipping the top zippers and accessing your items from above.  However, the CS5 comes with a divider shelf.  So, how does one access the items below the shelf?   By unzipping the zippers that run down the length of the CS5’s front panel, one can now open the bag towards the Front Bag, and access the items inside.   There are two FLEX Mount Pocket stations on both sides of the CS5.

Finally, on the rear bag, you have six pockets in which to store your items.  The main storage area for charts, kneeboard, documents, a 13” laptop.  Two interior small pockets for eyeglasses, markers, batteries.  The main outside pocket with flap for your iPad, today's charts, documents.  The zippered slip pocket for manuals.  And finally, the flat half pipe slip pocket for your checklist or boarding pass.

In addition to being an excellent IFR Bag, the B16 is the perfect bag if you are traveling overnight.  Keep your equipment the way you like it and add the CS5 to put in a change of clothes and a dopp kit.  For longer trips away from home we recommend the B25 Carryall.

In all, the B16 gives you many choices when planning your specific mission.  It is versatile enough to be used in VFR Conditions or heavy IFR conditions.  The B16 is also a perfect overnight bag.  So if you have many missions, and want only one bag, the B16 fits the bill.
