Item Description
No offense to Nana, but this is definitely NOT your grandmother’s quilt!
“Jambalaya,” created by fiber artist Laima Whitty, is a beautiful handmade ART QUILT. It was imagined, designed and sewn to be hung like a favorite painting...in a room that craves a splash of color and a unique visual focal point...appreciated for its textural depth and its 50+ hours of craftsmanship.
“Strip-Pieced”Perfection
“Jamalaya” was “strip pieced,” a traditional method of quilting , but with a contemporary twist. Hundreds of 100% cotton Kaffe Fassett and Batik fabric strips were sewn together to make blocks. These blocks were then sewn together to create this intricate design. When admired, it almost looks as though you are looking through a color-filled kaleidoscope, seeing a different pattern every single time.
Size: 55” x 69” with attached rod-pocket sleeve to make hanging a breeze.
