Historical artifacts, a full-sized car made in Columbus, an interactive quiz/display, and more - all highlight the newly constructed, newly opened CHS Exhibit space at COSI. Trained docents can answer your questions, and you can experience an interactive display that detects your answers by observing your body position.
From now until Labor Day, the exhibits will focus on the first half of Columbus' 200 years: 1812 - 1912. After Labor Day, plan to visit again to see the most recent half of the story: 1912 - 2012.
Columbus Historical Society BusTour
The Columbus Historical Society has set the 2012 Schedule for its tour of center city historical sites. This tour highlights the diversity of Columbus’ history, including the city’s role in the Underground Railroad, prohibition, and the start of the NFL.
The tour runs along Broad Street and into Franklinton, the Short North, German Village, Town Street, Franklin Park, and the near East Side. Tour leaders draw on the city’s rich history and bring to life stories that showcase the city’s history of exploration, politics, business, social customs, and, of course, sports.
Join us for an eye–opening trek through Columbus’ past and present. You’re sure to experience a “Hey, I didn’t know that!” moment on a fun, trivia filled jaunt.
Bicentennial City Tours is a 2 hour, non-stop, air conditioned bus tour that will make you laugh and tuck away unique tidbits to share with family, friends, and visitors.
