Our Mission is to excite people, of all ages, about the coastal and ocean environments with an emphasis on fun and exploration of the natural beauty around Cape Ann.

Discovery Adventures offers guided sea kayaking tours and snorkeling on Ipswich Bay in Massachusetts, as well as summer programs for children. We have instructional courses, kayak rentals, and Stand Up Paddleboards

Our summer camp program provides the opportunity for kids to be kids. While having fun on the water with friends, they will learn the skills of paddling, rescues, and snorkeling. They also gain an appreciation of the natural world surrounding them. The activities aim to spark their interest in Marine Science and the instructors have the knowledge to support their discoveries.

Introductory Paddle ($40) Two Hours, departure times are flexible 
Never kayaked before? No problem! Come out and enjoy the ocean with us as we guide you safely along our gorgeous seashore. You’ll love the ease and grace of your kayak as it floats along the water’s surface.

Ipswich Bay Tour ($50) Three Hours, departure times are flexible
Join us in exploring Gloucester's northern coast on Ipswich Bay. We set out from Lane’s Cove, a quaint working harbor. With Plum Island and Crane's Beach as our backdrop we will check out coves, beaches and wildlife. This is a great way to get a new perspective of this historic area. No kayaking experience is necessary.

Kayak-Snorkel Tour ($75): Four Hours, 10am-2pm
Kayak to incredible snorkel spots along Gloucester’s gorgeous rocky Northern Shore. Explore waters full of starfish, sea anemones and more! This is the perfect tour combining views from above and below the ocean! (gear provided, including wet suits)

Sunset Tour ($40) Two Hours,  6-8 pm
Join us for the most spectacular location on Cape Ann for stunning sunset views over Ipswich Bay. Watch the play between light, water and sky dance before your eyes. An awe inspiring experience.

Eco-Art Adventures ($95) Four Hours,  10am-2pm
Join local artist and guide Kyle Browne on a tour combining kayaking and creating art! Enjoy the natural beauty of the Ipswich Bay on the water from a kayak and let this influence your creative experience. Then stop at one of the many inspiring coves or beaches to try your hand at drawing the landscape, painting a unique shell or using natural materials to create environmental art! Kyle will instruct and facilitate the art-making, no previous experience necessary.

Full Moon Tour ($40) Two Hours 7-9pm
A unique experience combining a fantastic sunset and a dramatic moon rise. Drift along in the quiet evening light trailing bioluminescence in your wake. To take advantage of the most moonlight, tours are offered for a few days before and after the full moon of each month.

All tours are weather dependent. Full refunds are given if cancellations are due to extreme winds and weather. We still love to paddle in a light rain with smooth seas. Dress accordingly and call with any local weather questions.
