Item Description
Eclectic Americana: Blues, Folk, Vaudeville, Gospel, Rock, and Originals. Born in Brooklyn, Charlie Messing played on a hit record in 1977: Robert Gordon and Link Wray's "My Gal is Red Hot". He was in a seminal freak-folk band, the Unholy Modal Rounders (1975-1977). He traveled with the Unholy Modal Rounders in support of the album, "Have Moicy", acclaimed by Robert Christgau as the best folk album of 1976. In VT, he formed "Be That Way", a 1990s Burlington rock and roll band. His local public access TV show, "Messing Around," has been on for over a year, and most episodes are available on Youtube. Recent appearances have been at Maglianero, on Maple Street.
