Item Description

This vintage Vinyl Classics 5 record set features 5 classical music albums selected exclusively for the online auction.

The 5 record set is a preview of our new program, Vinyl Classics, a classical music broadcast taken from vinyl lp's. The selections are from the music libraries of Pete Kosinski, host of Vinyl Classics, and from the Delmarva Public Radio classical music library.

This set also comes with handwritten notes from Pete Kosinski.

Item Special Note

The first record features Pierre Monteux with the London Symphony, in a performance of Antonen Dvoraks 7th symphony.

The second record is the first collaboration between pianist Van Cliburn and conductor Fritz Reiner with the Chicago Symphony. They are performing Robert Schumann's piano concerto in a-minor.

The third recording is Pictures at an Exhibition featuring Vladimir Horowitz and the Toscanini NBC Symphony playing Moussorgsky's masterpiece that inspired Emerson, Lake and Palmer's hit.

The fourth record is an Angel release of Maria Callas performing with the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra conducted by Nicola Resgigno.

The last recording in the set is a polish recording of organ music by J. S. Bach performed by Joachim Grubich.

The set is available for pick up or can be shipped.
