What's it like to work at a big lesson/boarding/training barn like Century Mill Stables? Do you get to ride horses all day long? Teach riding lessons to horse-crazy kids like on the "Saddle Club" TV show? Train horses for horse shows?

Now you can find out! The winning bidder will spend a day with one of Century Mill's top-notch, experienced instructors, Liz Kleinfeld. You'll do or observe everything that Liz does in this typical workday at the barn. Fair warning: a "typical" workday for Liz sometimes runs up to 9 ½ hours! (Don't worry...you WILL be treated to a simple sandwich-shop lunch with Liz so you can refuel and reenergize!)

Because you are working with dozens of different horses and a variety of people, no day is ever the same. However, you will get a first-hand look at what a trainer does on YOUR day there. You'll learn everything from hands-on grooming and horse handling techniques to scheduling clients to creating a lesson plan and being an "assistant instructor," helping Liz teach that lesson. And you'll get to meet Liz's own horse, Alena.

You'll have the time to ask a zillion questions and observe all the goings-on. You'll learn about the breeds and personalities of the barn's resident horses and how Liz contributes to the care and education of some of our Lucky Horse Equine Rescue horses. You might even be there on a day the farrier or vet comes out. Plus much, much more.

This Day with the Trainer is fun for:

• Adults who want to jumpstart their association with horses again after an extended absence
• Students considering a veterinary medicine or vet tech career

This very special auction item is available for all ages...from 7 years old to adults of any age. Century Mill Stables is conveniently  located in Bolton, Massachusetts off rte. 495. Actual day at the barn will be scheduled on a mutually convenient day decided upon between donor and high bidder. Expires June 1st, 2013.

Meet Liz
Liz Kleinfeld, Trainer and Coach
Liz is an important member of the CMS crew! She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Findlay in OH, with degrees in Equine Science, Business Management, and Equine Business Management. Liz has shown in the Hunters and Equitation, and was IHSA National Champion in 2004. She and her amazing horse, Alena, were the Vermont Summer Festival Circuit Champions in both the 1.0M and the 1.10M Jumpers in 2010. She is an extremely talented instructor, and excels at teaching all levels of riders, from beginners to our more seasoned show competitors. Liz looks forward to her new role as Assistant IEA Coach, and will be joining our show coaching staff for 2012!
