“I see art as a way of living: We are art. We are “works in progress”. We create our life as a piece of art, adding pieces and colors according to our experiences and feelings.  It can reflect our mood, reveal our deepest thoughts and invite spectators to experience it in the most private and personal way.

I grew up in Mexico and I’m influenced by its culture, vivid colors, images and traditions. I like the use of different textures; materials and combinations that make the spectator feel my own thoughts and get inspired by my artistic self.

I like to give new meaning to things that sometimes by themselves are meaningless. I attempt to give life, in a physical way, to my feelings, visions and experiences.

I find mosaic to be the perfect medium for this. Each piece by itself is insignificant, but when added to the whole, finds new light, new meaning, and new color. Giving life to my creations becomes a very important part of me, of my life. Every new piece adds to my personal growth.

‘Art Heals’ represents a hurt heart, a heart that has been suffering and now through art it's healing and getting wings to fly away and follow it's most profound dreams.”

Self taught by researching books, I started making mosaics in the summer of 2009.  I took my first formal class with Michele Petno at the end of 2009. Which then progressed to an Intensive Workshop in the School of Mosaics in Ravenna, Italy and a workshop with UK mosaic artist Martin Cheek in 2012.  My 3D mixed media mosaic, "King Divine and his Rebel Heirs" has since been exhibited in the juried Mosaic Arts International 2012 exhibition at The Lexington Center Museum and Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky
