Item Description
Michael Taylor is a pioneer of the Studio Glass movement and former chair of the glass program at Rochester Institute of Technology. In his process, Michael uses cold working techniques to cut, grind and polish blocks of glass that he assembles into geometric compositions. His work reflects the influence of a legacy of modern artists from whom he has learned and includes frequent references to modern and post-modern theory.
“Theoretical and physical science are the predominant source of information and inspiration for my visual work. The effects of these fields will negate or safeguard the future of humanity.”
