Marguerite Bride, known regionally for her House Portraits and her “Local Color” series of Berkshire scenes, has painted over 130 custom watercolor house portraits. You will work directly with the artist in designing your painting. If the home is local to the Berkshires, Ms. Bride will visit the site, do some on-site sketching and take the reference photos herself; if not local, you will be instructed as to the type of photos to send.
Planning your house portrait is always a pleasurable adventure….some people like to include pets, old vehicles, and other reminders of the past. It has been very popular to use a winter painting your holiday greeting card. It is actually an easy process and you will be involved in all the steps.
You will receive a watercolor painting ready for framing. The size will vary depending upon your preferences, but it will range anywhere from 18” x 24” to 24” x 30” (or any size in between), landscape or portrait orientation…it will be up to you to define this with the artist. You will also receive one fine art reproduction of the painting, a cd with the image in a variety of formats and resolutions, and permission to reproduce for your own use.

The whole process takes about 2 months, with the upfront decisions usually taking the longest amount of time.
