Item Description

Bear Description: During the Bear Fest Unveiling Celebration we overheard someone describe From Ribbons to Thorns as “simply exquisite” and we have to agree.  Sparingly covered with realistically painted birds on a light blue background, the beauty of this bear is truly in the details.  From the ruffled feathers of the snowy egret, to the shiny black eye of the ruby-throated hummingbird, Barrett’s paint brush elegantly captured each bird’s unique characteristics to create a beautiful and cohesively rendered masterpiece. Each bird selected is indigenous to the Pioneer Valley. This bear would be at home in any garden!

Artist Bio: Rosemary Barrett comes from a long line of artists and crafts people who have influenced her sculpture and painting. She graduated from the School of Worcester Art Museum and has exhibited extensively throughout the northeast including at Sunne Savage Gallery in Boston, the Berkshire Museum, and OK Harris in New York City.
