Bear Description:
In the height of the summer season it is easy find oneself longing for the cooler days of winter, and that is exactly what this bear is all about. Winter’s Lament is painted in a soft grayish brown with varying patterns of repeating silhouettes of trees wrapping around her body. The pattern begins on the bear’s right ear with a yellow crescent moon on a light blue background and continues down the body in shades of purple, pink, orange, and yellow, all accented with white snow and black tree silhouettes.
Artist Bio:
Natania Hume works from a studio in her home and is also a member of Mudpie Potters Community Clay Center in Leverett, MA. She is a primarily a potter, but has also dabbled in printmaking and painting when she is not painting bears. All of her work incorporates patterns and her bear reflects this in the repeating silhouettes of abstracted trees that encircle him/her.
