Item Description

Bear Description: Artie Bear is the very embodiment for the love of the Arts! Bedecked with symbols that represent different artistic pursuits such as a paintbrush and palette for the visual arts, a comedy and tragedy mask for theater, a staff with notes for music, and a book of poetry for the written word, Artie Bear is a true arts devotee.  The symbols are found scattered about his barbershop quartet inspired attire, which can be construed as a throwback to the artist’s membership in such a group.  Brightly painted in pants of purple, vest of green, and shirt of orange and white, Artie Bear is a very colorful bear indeed.

Artist Bio: Theodore Fijal is a fine artist, illustrator, and graphic artist. He is an honorary member of the Allied Artists of America in New York, a past president of the Springfield Art League, and was included in the “Made in Massachusetts Exhibit” at the Norman Rockwell Museum. His paintings are in the collections of Chicopee Savings Bank, United States Air Force, Polish National Credit Union, and numerous private collectors.  Fijal is also a singer with the Pioneer Valley Chordsman and the Valley Light Opera.
