Item Description

A beautiful framed print. "The School on Maple Hill" by JD Logan, 16" x 20". The school sits peacefully in autumn surrounded by the season's color.  This warm and rich fine art print is a prime example of American Folk Art

Folk artist JD Logan, entirely self taught, turned to painting only a few years ago when an injury to his left hand in 1998 forced him to set aside the guitar, his first love. From the beginning, his paintings have been inspired by the peace and beauty of the surrounding hills and towns of his New England home.

JD is represented by the Birdhouse Gallery in Great Barrington, MA and Galarina Folk Arts in Shipshewana, IN. Although he has been painting only a short time, his paintings hang in numerous private collection in the US and abroad. In 2002 he decided to devote full time to creating and promoting his art. Through his business "Half Acre Farm Designs" he oversees the publishing and marketing of his prints and notecards. Recently, Early American Life Magazine chose him to be in The Directory of Traditional American Crafts which recognizes the country's finest artisans.
