When the Iron Bird Flies is the first feature length documentary that takes a comprehensive look at the impact Tibetan Buddhism is having on Western culture. The film creates a vivid portrait of the world of Tibetan Buddhism as it is manifesting in the West – from the personal experiences and insights of teachers and practitioners to the wide-ranging dialogues taking place between Buddhist teachings and the worlds of science, psychology, and the arts. In these increasingly chaotic modern times, can these age old teachings help us find genuine happiness and create a saner, more compassionate 21st century world?
Blessings: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet tells the story of the 2005 journey taken by renowned Buddhist teacher Tsoknyi Rinpoche III accompanied by a handful of western students to the Nangchen region in Eastern Tibet. The purpose of the trip was to document the lives and assess the needs of the Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns - 3,000 remarkable women who live and practice an ancient yogic tradition in nunneries and hermitages scattered across this remote, mountainous region. (Special Limited-Edition, 104-minute feature length version, beautifully packaged with full-color Illustrated Booklet).
