Item Description
Take a stroll through Gloucester's historic Dogtown with Shep Abbott. Shep has led numerous tours in Dogtown, held a "Dogtown Art Camp" summers and made Dogtown maps. Knowledgeable of Dogtown history and natural history.
This walking tour is open to up to 12 guests, including kids, and will take 2-3 hours.
Bring water, snack, bug spray - your dog!
Item Special Note
Tour participants will park at the Cherry Street entrance at 9am, hike up the Dogtown Road visiting 17th. century cellar holes, the site of James Merry's demise in a bull fight in 1892 (with poetry recitation by Shep), snacks at Dogtown Square, continue the hike to visit several motto rocks including "Spiritual Power" and return to the parking area, backtracking along Dogtown Road.
