The Neighborhood
Susan Hagner
Watercolor
11 x 15 unframed
My painting “The Neighborhood” is a view from Liberty Street above White Park looking toward the Capital. I wanted to paint this because it focuses on a cluster of houses. Concord’s neighborhoods give us our sense of community. It is what makes our city a great place to live.
I am blessed to have a talented teacher and mentor in Sylvia Brofos, whose classes I attend weekly at Kimball Jenkins School of Art in Concord. I have also studied with Becky Darling, Don Andrews and Mel Stabin at weeklong workshops in Concord, St. Michael’s, Maryland and Cape Porpoise, Maine, respectively.
Susan Hagner lives in Concord, New Hampshire with her husband David. She is the director of Emerson School for Preschoolers.
