Item Description
History is calling! "Older than Mount Vernon and Monticello and the nation itself," Sotterley Plantation is the sole surviving Tidewater Plantation in Maryland still open to the public. The Plantation House and Grounds encompass nearly 100 acres, including the Colonial Revival Gardens, nature trails and 20+ historic buildings. The Plantation House is a National Historic Landmark, and among other notable pieces of history, it is a rare, fine example of post-in-ground architecture. For the history lover in all of us, this is a fine part of Maryland's history.
Item Special Note
Each of four admission postcards admits two people for a guided Plantation House Tour and access to the grounds for self-guided tours. Plantation House opens May-October, Tuesday through Sunday. Winner should call for tour times and site closures.
Expires 10/31/2013.
