MARIE-ANGE - Plate No. 1 It is the first plate in Paul Durand's Children Series. "It is a late summer day in the French province of Normandy, and heat waves shimmer in the still air. A little girl has found a cool, leafy orchard and is sitting in a shady spot under a tree, a basket in one hand, an apple in the other. Just as she is about to take the first bite, a man walking along the dusty lane catches sight of her. Struck by her contentment and the charm of the scene, he pulls a pad from his pocket and makes a rapid sketch." "Marie-Ange" is as only Durand could see her; all sunshine and sparkling eyes in a cool orchard -- a glance backwards toward our own memories to the time when the first bites of an apple just picked was one of the greatest joys of life." This is Paul Durand's last work - his only Collector's Plate Series. It has the paper story, an attached plate hanger on the back, all original paperwork and the Certificate of Authenticity. It is 8" in diameter and is in excellent condition in its original Styrofoam. This Limoges plate number is, AN926 and the Bradex number is 18-52-1.1

EMILIE ET PHILIPPE - Plate No. 2 "It is a sun-drenched September day; The leaves are turning gold and the first hint of Autumn is in the air. In the old French province of Normandy, a young girl and her even younger brother are walking down a country lane the first day of school. This is the sketch made by Paul Durand on that day." "Their gaze is clear-eyed candor, without guile or pretense, and the world they discover is taken at face value. Emilie and Philippe, these children of Durand are, as we once were, in a simpler time when there was nothing to distrust." This Limoges plate is BH-066 from 1979. This 8" diameter plate is in excellent condition in the original Styrofoam. It would make a wonderful addition to a collection. It has all its original paperwork and Certificate of Authenticity. This is from Paul Durand's last work, his only collector's plate series. Plate has a factory attached plate hanger on the back. Bradex number is 18.52-1.1

CHRISTIANE AND FIFI Plate No. 3 "With her bright-eyed poodle, Fifi, at her side, Christiane splashes through the puddles of a spring shower, her yellow slicker a vivid contrast to the grey mist of an April day." "Her eyes, startled by a thunder clap, Christiane is just as Durand first saw her -- a bright splash of colour on a rainy April morning, her shining innocence a mirror in which we see our own lost youth." This 8" diameter plate is in excellent condition in the original Styrofoam. From 1980, it comes with a Certificate of Origin AC060 (also stamped on the back of the plate) The Bradex No. is 18-L52-1.3. It has the Quality Control Certificate, and the story paper is in the box.

CECILE ET RAOUL - Plate No. 4 "It is early Christmas morning, and the small French provincial household is brightly decorated with glittering ornaments and glowing candles. Faint shadows flicker across the sleepy faces of the two children who stand quietly in front of the broad pine branches. Just moments before, they were awakened to join their family in the traditional exchange of presents. In their gravely trusting eyes, Durand gives us reflections of our own Christmases past, when our dreams, too, were tied with ribbons, and we could enfold our hopes, like a cherished doll, in the shelter of our arms. This 8" diameter 1981 plate is in excellent condition in the original Styrofoam box. The Bradex No. is 18-L52-1.4. This Limoges plate is AK829.
