Item Description

Cleo (Mixed Media, 20.5"W x 36"H), Marion Bush

Marion Bush's art is one of personal exploration. She does not find herself inspired to paint anything reflecting world problems or human misery, though these things touch her deeply. Instead, she hopes to portray joy and the beauty that exists in the world.

Recently, Marion has been exploring the use of collage papers, tissue paper, plant fibers, photos and such with paint to create iconic female images. She enjoys the textual dimensions these various elements create. Like treasure hunting, she goes through her extensive supply of papers looking for something to use in a particular area of what she am working on. Often she finds some odd scrap that says 'Use me!' This is great fun!

Art, in her opinion, is the reflection of an individual's personal world their experiences through various media, travel and reading. Art can give us joy, make us think, make us weep and give us hope. Marion believes art, and the creation and appreciation of it, is part of what it means to be human. It is part of our lives: in nature, in our homes, clothing, music, dance, literature and more. Art enriches us and makes life worth living.
