Item Description
Rhythm and Blues (Acrylic, 20" x 20"), Helen Troxel
"This painting is a seminal work that has led to my current series of 20 large abstract paintings entitled the Fibonacci Series. A mixed media approach requiring many layers of paint, it's about time, transformation, change and how its perception varies from individual to individual. The abstract shapes and colors reflect the rhythms and the structure of jazz improvisation."
With a Bachelor of Science from University of Illinois and a Master's in Art:from San Francisco State University, Troxel has participated in numerous juried and non-juried shows in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Walnut Creek's Bedford Art Gallery, Richmond Art Center, Diablo Valley College Gallery, San Francisco State Art Gallery, U.C. Berkeley Student Union Gallery, San Francisco Women Artist Gallery, ART Cottage Gallery, Mendocino Art Center, Orinda Library, Contra Costa Library (partial list).
