Hawai'i-based fashion designer, Anne Namba, has taken her “Kimono Couture” to new heights, including adding to her kimono and obi designs by creating exclusive silk print collections using Asian themes. Her collections have appeared in Bergdorf-Goodman in New York, Neiman Marcus, the Saks Fifth Avenue Folio Catalog and Nordstrom stores. Namba’s clientele includes Mikhail Baryshnikov, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ann Getty, actresses Elizabeth Taylor, Veronica Hamel, Sharon Stone and Tamlyn Tomita, Kristi Yamaguchi, actor Pat Morita, musician Herb Alpert and singer Lani Hall. Her designs have been worn by Aretha Franklin during a Good Morning America performance, by Vanna White for a week of Wheel of Fortune shows shot in Hawai'i, and by members of the band Hiroshima.
