Item Special Note
Photographer Evvy Eisen has lived and worked in Inverness since 1971. She specializes in environmental portraits and often chooses to work on extended assignments documenting the people involved in socially relevant issues.
Evvy uses available light and a tripod mounted, medium format camera. She does all her own darkroom work, developing the film and producing black and white silver gelatin prints. In 2009, she began a yearlong project photographing the workers at the Drakes Bay Oyster Company. These photographs though specific to them as individuals, also illuminate timeless, universal aspects of workers and the jobs they do.
