Cut Paper, 44" x 27"
The art of paper cutting is a technique that dates back to the 6th century in China. Peace Garden is a wall or window panel of cut paper. The imagery invites a moment of contemplation by depicting both Eastern and Western symbolism. Although identifiable with particular philosophies, Peace Garden is meant to be a universal place of quiet.
Margo Lemieux has been an artist since the first grade when she got into trouble with her teacher for “decorating” her workbook. After earning a fine arts degree in painting from BU, she worked as a graphic designer and newspaper correspondent, among other pursuits. She is currently a professor at Lasell College in Newton, MA. She has also taught at the Attleboro Arts Museum, Northeastern University, and RISD.
Item Special Note
This item can be shipped via UPS or picked up at the Attleboro Arts Museum from November 6 – 10, 2012. The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10-4pm. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping and handling costs. The artist retains all reproduction and copyrights.
