Item Description
Morro Bay Golf course offers an 18 hole round of golf for four including carts. Offer expires December 31, 2012. Contact Josh Heptig, golf course superintendent, at 805-781-1318 for details. Morro Bay Golf Course is often referred to as "Poor Man's Pebble Beach" and is a Central Coast "must play". The course offers stunning panoramic ocean views from every hole. This player-friendly 18-hole public course has tree lined fairways and hilly terrain placing a premium on club selection. Though there are few sand traps and limited OB, golfers should be prepared as the course offers some naturally challenging playing conditions. The course is nestled on the side of a mountain offering a variety of difficult lies. The kikyugrass fairways and putting on the poa annua greens provides a unique test as all shots tend to move towards the ocean. The golf course is located at the base of Black Hill overlooking the picturesque hamlet of Morro Bay set alongside the Pacific Ocean. The course is situated within Morro Bay State Park and Estuary. Many birds and wildlife call the golf course home, which has been awarded "Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" status. Golfers can visit the course's well-appointed practice facility to hone their skills prior to playing. It includes a driving range, putting greens, putting and sand traps surrounding an undulating green. The pro shop is well stocked and will meet all of your equipment needs. The staff are friendly and accommodating, so don't hesitate to ask the starter for "playing tips". The View, the courses bar & grill serves high quality food in a timely manner. Tournament groups will appreciate the banquet room, which overlooks the course and the Pacific Ocean.
