Item Description
Two 2005 Marcassin Chardonnay - Private Collector
One bottle Marcassin Three Sisters Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and one bottle Marcassin Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
Winemaker Helen Turley is one of the most influential winemakers in the business, receiving acclaim for almost every wine she touches. Marcassin is a very small winery, producing less than 2,500 cases per year.
The ’05 Chardonnay Three Sisters has extraordinary minerality, almost a liqueur of rocks and honeyed citrus, along with nectarines and orange blossoms. The wine is stunningly rich and finishes with superb intensity. 96 points from Robert Parker’s “The Wine Advocate”.
Robert Parker says the 2005 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay “edges towards perfection” and he gave the wine 99 points. White flowers, white currants, crushed rock, quince, lemon butter, nectarine are all present in this wine and reminds Parker of a grand cru white Burgundy such as Chevalier-Montrachet because of its liquid stone and floral notes. This sensational wine should age effortlessly until at least 2018.
