Item Description
Case 2008 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - Rios Wine Company, Calistoga, CA
Immigrating from a small farming community in Mexico, Rafael Rios initially found work in Napa Valley vineyards in the 1960s, giving the Rios family deep roots in the Valley. His son, Manuel Rios, is well known throughout the Valley as owner of one of the most successful vineyard management companies. Their farming practices and wealth of knowledge lead to the next step as wine producers, creating the Solovino and Mixto labels.
Rios Wine’s newly released 2008 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a small vineyard in the Stags Leap District. Only 100 cases of the wine were produced.
Supple and rich, this Cabernet exhibits aromas of loganberry, black plum, cocoa nibs and sweet oak. On the palate, the wine is firm yet velvety and enticing, with great expression of blueberries, lavender, black cherry, black currant on a wave of soft tannins.
