Item Description
Title: Southern Alps, New Zealand
Framed (32 x 17in), ready to hang watercolor by well-known teacher and artist, Jack Shields.
Born and educated in New Zealand, Jack Shields came to the U.S.A in 1954, attending Indiana University as a graduate student. Jack began painting in 1962. Among numerous commissions he has received are the guest room watercolors in the Atlanta JW Marriott Hotel Lenox and illustrations for the Atlanta Junior League Cookbook.
He served on the faculty of Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia since 1956, retiring in 1995 as Director of Fine Arts to paint and teach workshops full time. A skilled teacher and an enthusiastic painter, Jack has taught in Georgia, Missouri, Florida, California, Nevada, and Honolulu. Jack's paintings hang in private homes and businesses throughout America and abroad.
