Item Description
A custom workshop for your group!
Transitioning Home is a six-week online workshop for parents who are changing their focus from career to raising children. With readings from Family and Home Network’s award-winning publications, the discussion groups offer the opportunity to:
- reflect on your goals, expectations, and feelings;
- learn more about how the latest research is affirming children's needs for nurture and time with their parents;
- review a list of tasks and skills of at-home parents, identify your priorities;
- think about how our culture and our communities affect our family life;
- plan ahead and keep the big picture in mind while dealing with—and enjoying—daily life with your children.
The Transitioning Home group, up to 8 participants, meets online using Google+ hangouts (video conferencing). We’ll meet once a week for six weeks, 90 minutes each time. FAHN’s executive director, Cathy Myers, will facilitate the meetings -- our online discussions are thought-provoking and fun!
Invite parents from your local API group or gather friends and family no matter where they live! Every effort will be made to schedule a time and day convenient for your group (starting times between 9 am and 8 pm Eastern time). Starting date to be arranged for your convenience, between January and April 2013.
