Item Description
Porcelaine, 14" x 14" x 3 1/2"
This piece is made from porcelain and colored porcelain embedded in the clay. The middle section of colored clay goes right through. The process of this technique is called Nerikomi. There are two ways of application: one being to apply it as a veneer on the surface of the porcelain and the other is to inlay the colored clay right into the porcelain so it goes right through. Both techniques have been utilized in this piece.
