Item Description

Stoneware, 15" x 8"

Artist: Suzanne Crane

Suzanne Crane earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MA in English in Charlottesville, VA.  While teaching at Piedmont VA Community College, Crane began taking evening pottery classes to rediscover being a beginner at something again.  Crane has exhibited her ceramics at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the American Craft Exposition in IL, and many others.

The highest bidder of this extraordinary teapot, donated by visionary art collector Arthur Goldberg, will also win a an afternoon viewing of his extensive private collection, located in Arthur’s home in suburban Boston. Arthur will serve as the tour guide.

“Collecting,” writes Arthur, “is my way of aging gracefully. The act of collecting represents a hope that one voyeur made an attempt to realize truth.”

Signature works include artists such as Scott Prior, Morgan Bulkeley, Gerry Bergstein, Brett Bigbee, Sally Michaels, William Beckman, Milton Avery, and Aaron Fink.

The tour will accommodate 4-6 adults and will be scheduled on a day mutually convenient for Arthur and the winning bidder.
