Item Description
Acrylic, 10" 10"
This is a painting of Queen Anne's Lace - a beneficial weed which grows wild around the New England area in the summertime. Lisa is inspired to paint them whenever she sees their long stems tangle, twist, and compete for sunlight. The weeds are set against a dark background to better contrast their complex structures and enhance their lacy appearance.
Lisa Kretchman lives in happy chaos with her husband, cats and Australian shepherds in Douglas, MA. Surrounded by gardens and wildlife, her connection to nature is prevalent in her artwork. A graduate of Mass College of Art, Lisa began her career as an illustrator, and later branched out into fine art with pastel, acrylic, and mixed-media. Lisa has exhibited throughout MA and RI.
