Item Description

Place your bid on this "Behind the Scene" tour for 20 people at Pewabic Pottery of Detroit.  Pewabic Pottery is a living treasure and offers visitors an exciting glimpse of a little known part of American history.  Pewabic is a non-profit ceramic design studio, education center and National Historic Landmark. Welcoming over 40,000  local, U.S. and international visitors annually, Pewabic is open all year long.

Visitors see a working historic pottery and can shop the Museum Store with Pewabic giftware and pottery made on site using Arts and Craft traditions and featuring its renowned glazes. Pewabic also supports over a hundred North American ceramic artists through selling their work in its galleries and exhibition program.

During your Pewabic Tour, your docent will take you on an in-depth journey through Pewabic’s history, including a look at our exhibit Journey of a Pioneering Spirit: The Life of Mary Chase Perry Stratton as well as early Pewabic pieces in our Museum, a walk through our Fabrication Studio where you can watch our artisans creating Pewabic wares from start to finish, an introduction to our Tile Showroom where you can see current custom projects from residential fireplaces to corporate commemoratives to public art tile installations, and an overview of our Gallery of Studio Artists containing the finest in contemporary ceramic work by over 70 North American artists.
