Artist Statement
Animal forms and images inhabit my work, through unconscious impulses and conscious decisions. Layers of significance- layers of form and surface, image, content, visual cohesion, functionality, may all be combined. There resides in all things a kind of energy. I am trying to express this through the utilization of asymmetry within the symmetry of process. There is a certain amount of contradiction in my work as in all things of the natural world. I use this aspect of reality in my work to depict as much of the “real” world as I can.
