LAUP’s health and wellness program, Fit by 5 LA, works with our preschools to (1) develop strategies to increase physical activity and encourage healthy eating at preschool and (2) engage with parents and families to support these behaviors at home.
Fit by 5 LA focuses on two priority areas: physical activity and nutrition, both of which are instrumental in maximizing a child’s ability to learn and develop. Fit by 5 LA is designed to ensure that at their preschools and with their families, children develop the fundamental skills to make smart choices about eating well and moving more, both of which promote healthy lifestyles that can be carried into adulthood.
